Philosophy

The word philosophy is taken from two Greek words, philos - meaning love and sophia - meaning wisdom. So philosophy means "love of wisdom." · The proper aim of philosophy is to know what is true! Philosophy inquires into the nature of things. It seeks to know what things are, how we know what things are, how we ought to behave, along with a variety of other things. Much of philosophy seeks to answer basic questions about existence, meaning, truth, knowledge, etc. Philosophy benifits the Christian in that it develops your ability to think clearly. It also clarifies issues that are critical to understanding God's special revelation (The Bible).
